Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

BURGER KING® General Track (Note: Employees and children of employees who meet eligibility requirements for both tracks will be considered for an award in both tracks, but if selected, will receive only one award)
Applicants must:

Be residents of the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
Be graduating high school seniors (U.S. and Puerto Rico), graduating from grade 12 (Canada) or graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada
Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent
Plan to enroll full-time, without interruption, for the entire 2012-13 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico

BURGER KING® Employee-Based Track (Note: Employee track will have two components as follows)
Children of employees and employees pursuing a traditional postsecondary education
Applicants must:

Be residents of the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
Be an employee** of Burger King Corporation, participating BURGER KING® franchisee ("Franchisees") or be dependent children* of an employee** of Burger King Corporation or Franchisees ("Designated Employer")
* Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee's household or primarily supported by the employee
** Employees must be active on Designated Employer's payroll for at least 6 months as of the application deadline date and employed at the time awards are first announced
Be graduating high school seniors (U.S. and Puerto Rico) or have attained a GED, graduating from grade 12 (Canada), graduating from home school education in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada or current college undergraduates or graduate level students in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada
Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent
Plan to enroll*** for the 2012-13 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico
*** Children of employees must be enrolled full-time, without interruption, for the entire academic year. Employees may be enrolled part-time or full-time.

Employees pursuing an enrichment program
Applicants must:

Be residents of the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
Be an employee** of Burger King Corporation or participating BURGER KING® franchisee ("Designated Employer")
** Employees must be active on Designated Employer's payroll for at least 6 months as of the application deadline date and employed at the time awards are first announced

Plan to enroll less than part-time or on an intermittent basis in GED, enrichment, certification or other course that enhance learning (Note: program or course must be taken at an accredited institution in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico)
James W. McLamore WHOPPER™ Scholarship
Recipients will be chosen from the BURGER KING® Scholars pool including both BURGER KING® General Track and BURGER KING® Employee-Based Track applicants based upon the following criteria. Recipients must be:

Citizens of the United States or Canada
Students who have graduated from high school within the last three years or full-time students who are seniors at a public, private, parochial or alternative high school or home school in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico
Students who are applying as a full time freshman to a four-year accredited, college or university that is located in the United States and is exempt from taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
Students who have a cumulative un-weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.3
Students who have taken and received a minimum ACT Composite score of 25 or a minimum combined SAT score of 1700
Students who demonstrate an active leadership role in community service, athletics, and/or similar co-curricular activity (such as student government, team sports, fraternal life, etc); and
Students who demonstrate substantial work experience

AWARDS
The only mode of application will be a web-based e-application. All applicants will be required to complete the application in English or Spanish. The following awards are available:

$1,000 awards
Three (3) $50,000 James W. McLamore WHOPPER™ Scholarship Awards
One (1) $25,000 "King" award
Up to four (4) $5,000 Regional awards
